A bit about us:
RosWIN - Roscommon Women into Business Network
RosWIN is a support organisation for women interested in business. RosWIN's aim is to foster entrepreneurship among women in Co. Roscommon and surrounding areas by providing a forum where they can make contacts, promote their business, develop their knowledge, network together and meet other women interested in business. It is based on the ideals of women helping other women by offering support, encouragement, advice, and information to each other. RosWIN currently has a membership database of over 180 members of which 110+ members have been actively involved since it was established in January 2006. RosWIN was set up by in collaboration with Roscommon Partnership, Roscommon County Enterprise Board and Helena Collins of Collane & WIN Ireland.
To date, RosWIN's activities have involved regular meetings; an Annual Fair; excursions; training; mentoring; signposting to other organisations/agencies etc; communication is by way of emails, bulletins and we now have a website www.roswin.net. RosWIN believes in combating social exclusion by promoting and encouraging membership from all excluded sections of society and hopes to develop Strategic Alliances with other bodies, both nationally and internationally which will enhance the network and provide benefits in the areas of ongoing evaluation, research, training, access to finance, identification and removal of barriers to entrepreneurship etc. RosWIN seems to be particularly unique in that members are at three different levels: Pre-business start-up, Business start-up and more advanced businesses. RosWIN also has a number of members involved in Social Entrepreneurship.
